PremTel can remove some of the stress of moving office, at least when it comes to re-locating your phone lines, diverting your calls during the move or hooking you up with partners that specialise in relocating your phone system or Cloud-based PABX.
The PremTel assurance to ensure a stress-free office re-location programme:
- Rule No 1.
- Please plan to advise us 6 to 8 weeks before the actual moving date.
- Rule No 2.
- Refer to Rule No 1.
A few more items to consider:
- Your local electrician can normally install the phone and data points around your office.
- Allow one phone and one data point as a minimum at each workstation, even if you intend to use IP handsets, just in case. And two 240V outlets at each workstation. Some IP handsets require a 240V supply to give them power.
- If you are moving into a new office unit in a complex or high-rise building, check that there are enough lines in the building to suit your business requirements, in case the other tenants have taken all the lines
- New lines can take from 2 days to 8 weeks to be installed from the street
- ADSL or SHDSL or Fibre can be an additional 5 days to 60 days, depending on the grade of service that you require
- Remember to allow for extra lines for EFTPOS, Fax, ADSL, HiCAPS for medical or other special modems or equipment unique to your industry
- If you are planning to move over the December/January period, take into account that all telco technicians and installers run a skeleton crew. High-end broadband must be planned in October to ensure that the service is operational in January, when your staff return to work.
